Greetings beautiful souls and welcome back! ⭐ And welcome to our new subscribers!! 😍
Today’s post is really about reframing how we view our problems and challenges by zooming out and seeing it as a path to the divine.
Everybody has challenges.
Even seemingly successful people who look like they’ve “figured it out” have problems too.
Because that’s the nature of life. We are all here to grow and evolve, and we can’t do that without some challenges. It’s pretty hard to change when we’re comfortable, lol.
Many of us are naturally strong in some areas, but relatively weaker in others.
For example, I seem to naturally have very good health. It’s not that I don’t take good care of myself (I do), but I’ve been really fortunate in that arena.
As an example, and hopefully without jinxing this 😀, I’ve never had COVID. I know, right? How?? I worked in healthcare, I traveled internationally during Omicron. I’ve definitely been exposed to it. Somehow I didn’t get it…
There are others who do struggle with their health. Some people struggle with money. Some struggle with relationships, or a combination of things. And that’s okay.
For me, I have struggled more with romance and connecting to men. I am working on this. I am finally able to release some past trauma now.
But sometimes I’ve cursed this affliction - in the thick of things, it’s easy to look around and feel like everybody else has figured it out. I am almost 36 years old and I haven’t been in a committed relationship for over 7 years…
At the same time, my soul must have chosen this path so that I could learn what it is like to survive and heal abandonment wounds, ancestral wounds, abuse, and my relationship to men. And what it is like to live as a spiritual and independent person. I can also hold the space for people who are having relationship troubles.
Challenges Mean a Breakdown of the Ego
Think about it. The ego loves the status quo. If you weren’t challenged, you wouldn’t be apt to change. For things that are relatively easy for us, we spend no time thinking about it.
For the things that challenge us, we’ll want to dive deep and learn all about it so that we can shift it.
While I know what it’s like to excel in other areas like career, yet have no partner, I also know what it takes to readjust myself to balance my life and make space for a partner.
I also know a LOT about healing your inner child, healing abandonment wounds, healing narcissistic abuse, releasing limiting beliefs, and learning to feel safe relating to, flirting with, and cultivating relationships with men. If you have experienced trauma, you know that a part of you “hides” from plain view because that part of you is stuck in time and is really scared. I know what to do to retrieve it, love it, and release it from the past.
What else have I learned through this? To be my own best friend, to embody my true self. I’ve learned how to let down my tight boundaries and start asking for help with dating!
When your ego breaks down, you get to move into soul.
Being a Beginner Means You Get to Be an Expert
Think about a beginner yogi vs. expert yogi. The beginner yogi will jam their body into some cool yoga positions, try to get a good workout in, and somehow manage to take a selfie to put on Instagram.
The expert gets curious about hand placement, fingertip placement, shoulder alignment, knee contact with the ground. The expert coordinates their breath with movement, and moves according to their body’s wishes, because that is their connection to the Divine. The “beginner’s mindset” is the ticket to becoming an expert.
In that “beginner’s mindset”, you have surrendered your ego. You are curious. You can’t be curious and judgmental at the same time. It’s when we are curious that we release all notions of what things “should” look like, and accept them for what they are.
From this place of surrender, we are teachable and therefore able to learn and grow.
Where Does The Divine Come Into This?
For every little thing that troubles you, you have a Spiritual Companion that’s willing to take over the brunt of the work. You have this Universal Manager that wants to follow you around and fulfill your every need.
All you have to do is let it. The small ego says, “I can do this on my own”, but the small self is not nearly as effective as the Big Self.
How do you do this?
You can literally say, “I surrender this ______ over to You.” Or “Change me, Divine Beloved, into one who can surrender this ______ over to You and trust you are the provider of all.”
Why?
In all situations, the thing we are missing is our true divinity. The thing we think we need (the job, relationship, the money etc.) won’t be able to fulfill us for long (because things are ever-changing). But Divine Intelligence is our true parent, the one who loves us unconditionally, and is the provider of all resources that we need.
When you give something over, Tosha Silver calls this “true offering” in her book, It’s Not Your Money (highly recommend), you allow for high-vibrational solutions to flow through you. The universe gets to act through you and guide you to any actions or healing you need to take, as well as the right people to help you with your problem.
Surrendering helps you realize you don’t have to do this alone. Even if the only one you are working with is your Divine Parent, you can offload your worries and feel safe and taken care of.
The only true safety we have is that God spark that lives within us (which we all have!) And it’s always accessible to us. We don’t need things on the outside to change in order for us to feel safe and protected and cared for on the inside.
But in doing so, watch things shift in your life as you do become the expert on whatever problem you’re going through.
Sometimes things get into an amazing balance and you’re thriving all over. Other times we have to go through tough things like losing a loved one, changing careers, a rough patch in a romantic relationship, or a health issue.
Life isn’t meant to be easy, it’s meant to be a learning experience. But we can add more ease and joy to it by connecting to our Divine Creator and remembering the divinity within us.
This is the only sustainable way to change things anyway. We physically cannot change without Divine assistance.
What Does This Lead To?
Well first off, I feel like surrendering helps me laugh at my humanity. Whenever I have a crush on someone who’s clearly not right for me, it’s like, “here you go, God, here’s all my cravings, longings, addictions, attractions - you can have it.” And then I laugh at what a silly little human I am! 😀 (which truly is more advantageous than “needing to get it right”).
As you work through and resolve whatever it is that you are going through, you get to teach others, directly or indirectly, what it’s like to successfully be making that change. You can even teach them during your process - it does not have to be fully resolved for you to be effective.
A common limiting belief in the spiritual community is that you have to be “fully healed” to teach or coach others. It’s just simply not true… You are way more relatable when you are fumbling, than when you have it all perfect.
What you are showing others is that they too can overcome their issues. And it’s normal to have struggles. Nobody’s life is perfect.
Pep Talk
I hope this post shows you that you are not alone in anything that you struggle with. Your Divine Companion is here to assist and guide you. Anything that troubles you is meant to be shifted, and yes, you will shift it!! Perhaps in unimaginably, wonderful ways. You are capable of way more than you can imagine. You are always supported on your journey. When you surrender, all needs can be richly met.
You’ve got this! Thank you for reading xoxo. Have a wonderful week!
