Greetings beautiful souls and welcome back ⭐ And welcome to our newest subscriber! Thank you for being here!
I have been reading this book: It’s Not Your Money by Tosha Silver. It’s the best book I’ve read all year 😀
While the book is about how to release your money woes, it’s really about surrender.
When we are on a manifesting journey, it’s easy to let the ego feel like it gets to control things, make its demands, and give its own timeline.
It’s easy to feel like, well if I just say enough affirmations and affirm what I want, it will come (on my terms). But sometimes the plan is different from what we are wanting or expecting.
Further, many of us do worry about money. There are people with lots of financial abundance who worry about not having enough (millionaires, even). There are people with very little money who still worry too. There are people who are paying their bills just fine, have savings, and still feel like it’s not enough.
When we are always grasping for more, we are actually chasing away what we want.
So here is an alternative for those of you who feel ready for a different way.
Perspective Shift
Everything comes from and belongs to the Divine. It is the Source of all abundance. That includes money. Yes, it’s a paradox. The ego sees money as “mine”, but ultimately it belongs to the Divine. See this post about the divine flow of abundance.
The Divine Flow of Abundance
Greetings everyone and welcome back! And welcome to our new subscribers 🙂
When we die, we don’t take any of our money with us.
And while on Earth, if we see the divine flow of abundance as a water hose, if we grasp too hard, we stop the flow. If we let go, the flow gets to continue as it sees fit.
When we see things from this viewpoint, we can say to Source, “it’s Yours.” We can then start to feel the burdens lifting from our shoulders, like we don’t have to figure all this out and do this on our own. What a gift!
Why Surrender?
Us tiny humans tend to be hoarders. Yup, emotionally, mentally, and physically we hoard stuff. When we give over to the Divine, we get to surrender our egos too, and say, I really don’t know what I am doing, please help.
The Divine has a bigger plan that is likely even more beneficial than what we imagined. Surrendering to that means you get to offload and feel lighter, but also be helped along the way.
How To Surrender?
One way is through prayer. In the book, It’s Not Your Money, Tosha Silver offers a Full Abundance Change Me Prayer. You can visit her website to read it, it’s beautiful. She recommends reading this every day for 8 weeks. I am doing it now, so please join me if you’re interested!
The reason I am including prayer as a tool for surrender is because I often forget it's available to me. But it’s such a powerful way to speak to the Divine and let go.
You can use prayer to surrender your plans and manifestations over. You can use prayer to surrender any worries or negativity you are feeling (feel them first though). You can use prayer to surrender any neediness or longing that you feel is blocking you. You can also surrender any financial mistakes you’ve made. A lot of us dwell on stuff like that…
When you surrender, you get to feel lighter and taken care of.
How exactly do you do this? You can literally say “I surrender this _________ over to You now.” And you’ll instantly feel lighter…
And btw - this is a great practice for any insomniacs in the group… I am sleeping like a baby since I started doing this!
There are 3 Stages to Letting Go (From Ego to Soul)
In each stage, the ego has less and less control over what is happening.
Stage 1: The ego is fully in charge, saying I want this or that, in this timing, and if I don’t get it, I’ll have a tantrum. It’s normal and natural to feel disappointment or anger over not getting what you want, but in this stage, the attachment to the desire is so strong that you end up being a slave to your desires, even if you do get what you want!
Stage 2: Intellectually, you know to surrender to the Divine, but the ego is still attached to what it will get in return. For example: “I’ll offer my money problems to the Divine - so that I can become rich.” In this example, you still have an agenda.
To move into stage 3, you have to really be willing to offer all of it over, including the outcomes, and be able to embody the spaciousness that ensues. Once you are really in that spaciousness…
Stage 3: You have completely offered everything, and in that spaciousness, the universe is acting through you. You’ve completely released attachments to any outcomes, and you are simply a Divine conduit. By letting go, you have made space for Spirit to join you and work with you to move through problems using Higher Solutions. You know that all that you need is always provided, at exactly the right time.
It’s common to stay in one stage for a time and move to another. Maybe you are often in stage 3, but something happens to trigger you back to stage 1. It’s no reason for self-judgment, but an opportunity to learn and grow again.
The Three Crown Jewels of Existence
When we talk about surrender, there are three crown jewels in yogic philosophy that hit the spiritual jackpot of true surrender and freedom.
Aparigraha: Nongrasping
Nongrasping means allowing what wants to come, come, and allowing what wants to go, go. The more we open our hands to receive, the less we need to chase or grasp. There are some of us who stay too long in certain places, be it a job or a relationship, a house, or what have you.
Aparigraha or nongrasping allows us to see that when Life calls us to make a change, we’ll be just fine, or even the better, because we are learning lessons along the way.
Vairagya: Detachment
While vairyaga indicates detachment, it also means that you may have preferences, but you’re not at the mercy of them. It’s kind of like radical acceptance. Some people say, “it is what it is” - but really mean “I hate this” (lol). That’s not really radical acceptance.
You may still have feelings about something, but once you’ve felt those feelings, you let go and offer it over to the Divine for true acceptance. Sometimes you have to move through inconvenient feelings to then get to detachment. It’s all part of the process.
Detachment doesn’t mean “spiritual bypassing” meaning we are skipping steps and not feeling our feelings. But it does mean knowing when to let these feelings go.
Ishvara Pranidhana: Surrender
In Ishvara Pranidhana, you are in true harmony with giving and receiving. As you get into the flow of true offering, it’s easy for you to let go because you know that more is on the way. Instead of “mine mine mine”, it’s “God’s God’s God’s.” You have completely given over any attachments to outcomes, therefore you are in true flow.
It’s easy to think, “I’m so bad at manifesting” - that’s a stage 1 level of ego. Surrendering to Source will often solve the problem.
The Divine then becomes your partner and co-pilot in moving through Life. There’s usually a better way, and the Divine knows it. When you surrender to this, prosperity can come from unexpected places.
The Law of Prarabdha Karma
The Law of Prarabdha Karma states we all have lessons we are learning in this lifetime. This includes money and abundance lessons. Everybody’s lessons are unique to them. So while yes, some people come into wealth and prosperity in seemingly “easier” or “quicker” ways, some people might have certain lessons they need to complete before that can become their reality.
Also, your money destiny is likely different from others…
And truly, the lesson is not to feel abundant only when you have more money, or to always try to “chase” more money, but rather to feel abundant and safe in the Divine’s arms regardless of any external happenings. That’s truly living abundantly.
There are certain times in our lives when we are “cooking” meaning we are unfolding our lessons, strengthening new skills, releasing old stuff, and growing, before we can have our fully cooked abundance pie.
This also means that not everything is within your control, because the Law of Attraction and the Law of Prarabdha Karma are intertwined. They work simultaneously.
So you can relax and let go of any fear, shame, or guilt that you might feel about your current financial situation. You are right where you need to be. You are still worthy, regardless of your bank account numbers.
But if you feel like something is taking longer than you expected, thank your Prarabdha Karma. That was divinely made for you so that you could overcome obstacles, learn new things, and move into higher spiritual ground.
It was made so that you could learn to surrender.
Wrap-Up
Sometimes you reach a point in your manifestation journey when you are just so tired and exhausted of doing so much, yet not seeing much change in your outer world. You might even feel shame or guilt over this, and you’re ready for a better way.
Releasing your worries, be it over money or anything else, to the Divine is a much more effective way to handle these tough feelings and move towards your true path.
We are all learning how to grasp less, detach more, and surrender. When we make prayers to surrender, we get to align with our true soul’s path, the one God intended for us. Then we get to fully be abundance. Abundance is on the inside.
Your journey is not meant to look like anyone else’s no matter how glamorous their path looks or how un-glamorous your path seems. You are on the right track. And even if you weren’t on the right track, you can ask Divine Spirit to help guide you. That's the power of the universe, it’s always there for you.
And if you need to chat further, I’m here too.
Thank you so much for reading! I hope this was helpful to you. I love you and thank you for being here.
Lots of love,
Angeli
“Change me Divine Beloved into One who knows You alone are the source of all prosperity. Let me live in gratitude, trusting every need is handled and always will be. Release me from the prison of jealousy, knowing whatever is meant for me always comes. That alone is true wealth.”~ Tosha Silver
