Hi everyone! Welcome back :) Today is my birthday! And it has gotten me thinking about seasons of the soul.
We all know that nature has seasons. But did you know that souls have seasons, too? Seasons of the soul are also known as cycles of spiritual development. Each season of the soul has something to celebrate, as well as something to teach us. Some seasons last longer than others, based on where you are on your growth path.
We will start with Winter. (I learned about these from the book, Return To You by Shannon Kaiser).
Season 1: Winter (Transformation)
This season usually occurs during or right after a major life-altering circumstance such as a breakup or divorce, quitting or being fired from a job, sudden financial change, etc.
As you transition from the old to new, this is a time to surrender and go inward. Many fears can surface during this time of transition. They come up because you’re meant to transmute these fears before moving forward.
It’s a reminder that where you are going, the old habits, beliefs, thoughts, and perspectives can’t come with you. Whatever you are no longer in alignment with has to remain behind as you move forward. This can include a relationship, home, location, job, friendship(s), or anything else that is no longer fitting.
This is a time of deep rest, renewal, realignment, and going inwards.
*When I left my job at the VA healthcare, I was sleeping and napping a LOT. It was also a time of introspection and healing.*
The low points of this season include: Feelings of sadness, discomfort, anxiety, or uncertainty
The high points of this season include: feelings of acceptance, trust, possibilities, and surrender.
Questions to ask yourself in Winter: What is no longer serving my highest good? What is no longer in alignment and needs to change?
Season 2: Spring (Rebirth)
As spring is the time to plant new seeds, so too does the soul plant new seeds to build a foundation for the future. Perhaps you start to have new visions, new ideas, and new trust guiding you forward now. Not much has fruited yet per se, but you have spent winter releasing fears in order for you to trust your inner guidance even more.
Each action you take leads you to more fulfillment. The parts that you cleared in winter allow for a more authentic self to shine through. You start to see that it is safe to be you and that’s where your true gifts are. Fear of growth or failure can rise up in this phase.
This stage is not about finishing or achieving something big, but rather taking aligned steps to plant seeds for the life you want to manifest.
The low points of this season: Feelings of overanalysis, feeling blocked, becoming paralyzed by choice, fear of failure or growth
The high points of this season: feelings of hope/excitement, adventure, preparation, and self-expression.
Questions to ask yourself in Spring: What am I inspired by? What can I do today to help build the future that I want? What intentions do I want to set?
Season 3: Summer (Thrive)
This is where it all gets good. All that work in Winter and Spring leads you to Summer to actualize your gifts. Just by being yourself, you are offering up so much good to the world! Your sense of self-trust increases and your intuition heightens. This is the phase where you embody joy. Your dreams are manifesting into existence.
Because you have healed many fears from the past and planted new seeds, you feel universal support guiding you forward. You are existing as your most authentic self. You have built all you’ve been dreaming of. This might look like a new career, a new relationship, or other lifelong dream actualized.
You can look back on the other phases of life and appreciate why things had to happen that way. You can see how the new version of you has formed.
The low points of this season: Feelings of overwork, high expectations, pressure
The high points of this season: reinvention, flow, alignment, joy, connection, and pleasure
Questions to ask yourself in Summer: What am I grateful for? What can I celebrate? How do I want to express myself? How can I live with more purpose?
Season 4: Fall (Reassess)
Summer has come and gone, and now you start to feel an inner tug of “not-rightness”. As much as everything has been going well, ultimately, your soul self has chosen to evolve further, which means that some things need to be readjusted or released in order to keep up with your new self.
While we were busy buzzing with our Summer life, what we need to do now is become still and listen in Fall. This can be a time of unrest and confusion, since things were previously going so well. This gets you ready to hibernate in the next season (Winter).
*I went through a long Fall season before I decided to leave my job in healthcare*
The low points of this season are: boredom, confusion, unrest, or lack of motivation
The high sides of this season are: rest and revelation, patience, clarity, and surrender
Question to ask yourself during Fall: What internal nudges am I feeling? What parts of my life need a readjustment? What would give me more purpose and fulfillment that also honors my energy?
Then we make it back to Winter again.
To Close
Each Season of the Soul is a time to listen to our bodies and honor what tempo feels right. As you progress on your own path, you realize that the old ways of doing things never really serve the new. As we grow, we unshed old belief systems to open up to new truths and ways of being. Some seasons take longer than others.
The universe and your soul decide what season you’re in. So it’s up to you to surrender, listen, let go, and allow for more change and eventual goodness to reach you. The key is to trust in the season of your life, and never to force.

I’d say I’m finally coming out of Winter and moving into Spring :)
Have a great week!
Lots of love,
Angeli
