Forget New Year's Resolutions... Do This Instead
Ever wonder why people who set New Year’s Resolutions rarely reach their resolution? That’s right - only 9% of people who set New Year’s Resolutions actually reach them. What’s worse - most people quit their resolutions by January 19th.

Does anyone else feel like the whole New Year’s Resolution thing is kinda hokey?
Me too. And let me tell you why, from a Law of Attraction standpoint.
Why Resolutions Are Tough
Setting a resolution means wanting to change something about yourself or your life. While it is perfectly reasonable to want to experience more from life, the resolution itself can be quite self-defeating.
Resolutions are outcomes-based. Which means, we are focused on something we don’t have right now, which is a vibration of lack.
When we see something we don’t like, and we set an intention with that same energy, we are only inviting more lack in and lack of self-love in. Energetically speaking, that is not a great way to go about our goals.
Also, by hyper-focusing on an outcome, we are also more likely to discount any potential miracles that could happen in our favor.
As you can tell, I’m not a big fan of resolutions.
Do This Instead
Set intentions. Intentions are feelings-focused. They are a guiding principle for how you want to live and feel. Intentions are actionable now and every day. Intentions help us stick to the process and enjoy it, rather than getting focused on something we don’t have yet.
From a Law of Attraction standpoint, intentions are a much more effective and aligned way to draw in more of what you want, effortlessly.
An Example: Health
Let’s say you want to lose weight for the New Year. Again, that is rooted in wanting to fix or change something about your beautiful self. Instead of setting a goal to lose 10 lbs, why not try to set an intention to feel good, appreciate your body, and eat right for your body type.
If you can commit to this every day, I bet it would be much easier to lose the weight (if you really need to), as you would be setting an intention out of love for yourself (feeling good), instead of out of lack of self-love (disliking something and wanting to change it).
The most sustainable changes in life are the ones rooted in self-love.
Another Example: Romance
Let’s say you want to draw in your soulmate love. Instead of setting a resolution based on finding that person (again: lack), try to focus on how you want to feel. Perhaps you want to feel more love and more connection.
If you can commit to feeling more love now (love is everywhere btw), you will be more likely to draw in more love from others around you (friends, family, coworkers, etc.), and more likely to attract your perfect love. You are worthy of your perfect love!
From an action standpoint, maybe that looks like committing to your journaling or spiritual practice each day. Perhaps that means practicing affirmations, meditating each day, or even visualizing how your perfect love feels.
One Last Example: Money
More money sounds nice! But again, you don’t want to set this intention from a place of lack, because you’ll draw in more lack. Try setting the intention to feel abundant.
Each time you spend money, feel good knowing there is always more. Thank the universe in advance for your abundance. Act as if you already have it. Use your imagination. That is a lot of good energy right there.
Perhaps you then feel guided to ask for a raise at work, or create a new product that helps other people. Maybe you receive some money from an unanticipated source! Be open to the outcomes 🙂
Feel good first, then do
As you can see in all of the above examples, feeling good first and holding that vibration will allow you to receive intuitive hits to take action (otherwise known as inspired action) to then effortlessly reach your manifestations.
In other words, use your feelings to help guide your actions. For example, if you want to feel healthy, perhaps that guides you to eat well and move your body in ways that feel good to you!
Then trust
The only way the good stuff will happen is if you trust that good things will find you. And if you set your vibration right, good things will find you! Have faith in yourself and know it will all work out 🙂
Conclusion
Resolutions don’t always feel that good and are easy to give up on, so I invite you to shift that energy into setting intentions and feeling good to reach your manifestation goals.
Intentions are meant to be fun, enjoyable, and feel good. We are all worthy of feeling good. That is the truth of Who-We-Really-Are.
The good thing about intentions is you can set them every moment of every day! You always have an opportunity to start fresh. You don’t have to wait another year to accomplish something. What a relief!
We live in a world of vibrations. Commit to feeling good, and watch your life change dramatically.
