Greetings everyone! Hope everyone has had a good weekend 🙂
My first experience with affirmations was around 2015 or so, when I was going through a bad depression. I was taking online yoga classes with Lesley Fightmaster. In some of her yoga sessions, she would read and repeat affirmations. I found this to be calming.
In general though, I had my doubts about whether affirmations are helpful or not. Could stating a positive sentence over and over really be that helpful?
Knowing what I know now and have seen in my life experience, the dialogue you have with yourself matters. For example, if you are critical of yourself, you attract people who are critical into your life. If you love yourself, you attract people who are loving into your life.
I’ve noticed this in my own life. Our inner worlds match our outer worlds. This is called the Law of Attraction.
It can even be the same people (critical or loving) you attract, it’s just the side you are bringing out of them based on your own attraction point (the emotion, or vibration, you are offering).
I’ve found that unless you believe the affirmation you are saying, it’s not gonna be super helpful. This is where it helps to check in with yourself. When you read or recite an affirmation, do you believe what you are saying?
If not, then why not? What do you believe about yourself that makes this untrue for you? There may be inner work to be done here to clear out whatever limiting beliefs are present.
Conditioning has taught us to reject a lot about ourselves, our divine powers, and our gifts. Unfortunately, when we don’t believe good things about ourselves, it shows up in our field.
With a bit of practice and persistence though, affirmations can actually be life-changing. If we have an affirmation to return to throughout the day, it gives us an anchor for positivity and expansion.
The mind can really wander, and the ego likes to ruminate over the past or anxiously anticipate the future. Affirmations help return us to the present moment to the loving and compassionate people that we really are.
Maybe initially stating an affirmation can feel kinda funny, but with time, it starts to feel really good. And that’s when you’ve hit the sweet spot. You attract the best things you when you make feeling good a priority.
Affirmations are also about stating your divine power and the truth of who you really are. Below are some affirmations for different parts of your life. Feel free to adjust them to however feels best for you.

If you really like affirmations, Louise Hay has a website with daily affirmations: https://www.louisehay.com/affirmations/
I used to check her website every day when I went through that depression all those years ago. It gave me a bit of peace each day.
You can use affirmations you see online or in a book, or you can also make up your own. You can tweak the ones above to your best fit. Having an affirmation can help bring calm and peace to a busy and hectic mind. It’s also a great tool to help you manifest your desires.

Still wanna learn how to manifest your dream life, but can’t wait for the workshop? Here’s my e-book to help you: Create Your Own Beautiful Story: Learn to Manifest the Life of Your Dreams
I love this list of affirmations. The ones that resonated with me most were the career ones. Congrats on your first workshop! I’m in KC so won’t be able to attend but I lived in Nashville for a year and miss it!
OMG!! I need to attend this workshop. Or maybe you offer it again when I'm back :D This is amazing. I have been an affirmation doubter too, but the more I reflect and try to feel and believe the words I say, the more powerful they become and the changes do come to fruition.
