Hi everyone!! Welcome back 🙂
Today we’re going to talk about one of my FAVORITE topics EVER!!! Intuition. Gosh I’m so excited.
But first, a story.
Back in 2017, I graduated from pharmacy residency in Portland, OR. I lined up a job in Wilmington, DE in Pain Management to start after residency finished.
Let’s rewind to a few months prior - I was dating someone who lived in Philly who wanted me to move back and be closer to him. Sounds reasonable, right?
Well, I didn’t listen to my intuition. Our relationship had started falling apart, I never really liked the Philly area (I had lived there for 5 years prior for pharmacy school and 1 year of residency and HATED it!), and I definitely didn’t like pain management.
My gut was screaming at me the entire time after I accepted the job. I was too scared to give it back. I left my favorite city in the whole world for this boy, who broke up with me before I could even move back.
This was the most pivotal moment of my entire life.
You see, I spent my whole life listening to other people’s opinions. I had never learned how to put myself first or factor myself into my decisions. I realized that I would have to change that in order to live a more fulfilling life!
And that was the start of my spiritual awakening - retraining myself to listen to my intuition each and every day.
I bet all of you have a story like this, (hopefully not so grandiose) where you wished you had listened to your intuition but didn’t. And I bet you have stories of when you did listen to your intuition and things turned out amazingly (I hope you have more of the latter!)
In any case, it’s literally the most important thing we could ever do! Our intuition knows way more than our logical minds could ever know!
The Truth About Intuition
Everybody has intuitive gifts (including you!). Your intuition is always turned on, but unfortunately through conditioning, many of us were trained to tune it out and listen to external or logical advice instead.
You are the only person who knows what’s best for you. ALWAYS, no exceptions. And the answers we seek are always available to us, we just have to pause and listen.
Let’s review the different kinds of intuition and how to know which one is yours (though technically, I believe we are a unique combination of all of them).
Clairvoyance (Clear/Inner Seeing)
You see the world through your mind’s eye. When you connect to other people, you see flashes of images or even a movie playing in your mind’s eye that showcases unspoken information. You learn best by seeing and experiencing. When you see someone, you can sense how they feel using pictures in your head.
You receive messages from Spirit through repeated numbers, animal signs, or other signs throughout the day. You tend to be creative and have a deep appreciation for beauty.
Clairaudience (Clear Hearing)
Your intuition works by hearing messages. The voice you hear may sound like the one in your head, but it has clarity, directness, and compassion. The messages usually sound positive or brave. If you get songs stuck in your head, that usually means there is a message there for you to “hear”.
Or, for example, if driving, and there might be an accident soon, you might hear all of a sudden, “turn right”. Musicians tend to be clairaudient.
Clairsentience (Clear Feeling)
You can feel or sense energies all around you. You “feel” whether things are right or off, usually based on a gut feeling. You can walk into a room and immediately sense the energy. You tend to pick up on other people’s energy or emotions and feel them as your own (also known as empathy).
Large groups of people and the news tend to drain you. You have a very strong BS detector.
Claircognizance (Clear Knowing)
You receive intuitive messages and just “know” what they are, without hearing, seeing, or even feeling the messages. You tend to know how things will play out without any additional evidence. For example, you just know not to go down a certain street at night, or to not trust a neighbor. It usually feels like an inner pull.
There are other types of “clairs” (such as clairgustance: being able to taste what’s not physically there and clairalience: being able to smell what’s not physically there) - they are less common but still important!
How to Connect to Your Intuition (and Practice Using It!)
Meditate. The best way to listen to your intuition is to pause, relax, and meditate. Meditation gives you a moment to slow down, tune in, ask questions, and receive. You can ask the universe, your Highest Self, angels, or spirit guides questions. You may or may not receive the answer immediately. Spirit likes to respond in divine timing, and often, symbolically.
Ask yourself. “Is this the right decision for me?” And see if your body relaxes or constricts. For me, if it’s a no, my throat closes up. If it’s a solid yes, I can feel blissful energy open up from my solar plexus (gut) all the way up to my crown chakra (top of head). I like to call this a full body yes. Because I’m clairsentient, I tend to tune into my gut the most, but I do receive intuitive messages in a number of ways.
Use oracle or tarot cards. Oracle cards tend to contain unique singular messages and differ from deck to deck. Tarot cards are a 78-card deck with consistent figures, suits, and symbols. You can ask the deck a question and see what cards pop up. You can use your intuition to “read” the cards for their meanings, or you can open up the little guidebook that usually accompanies the deck. You can practice drawing cards for your friends too!
And the end of the story is… it wasn’t all bad. It was in Delaware that I learned to be happy regardless of the circumstances, a valuable life lesson. There I also met my spiritual bestie, Kay ❤️, and I followed my intuition which led me to Nashville (I’m much happier here) - yay!
I’d Love to Hear From You! Which “clair” are you?? How do you receive or tune into intuitive messages? When was a time you listened to your intuition and was really glad?
I read every comment and write back, so please don’t be shy!
Have a wonderfully fantastic week!
Love,
Angeli

Thank you for sharing the Delaware story. It’s so dope how you take your learnings from it and roll it forward.
And I’m definitely clargustent. That’s how I can put together entire orders for many humans from restaurants 🙂
