How to Become a Channel For Your Gifts
Greetings everyone and welcome back! 🙂
I was inspired to write about this topic after reading Living in the Light by Shakti Gawain. Please comment if you’ve read any books by her!! I love her so much 🙂
When I think of being a channel, I’ve mostly heard about channeling through automatic writing, or speaking. You might even think of channeling certain intergalactic “entities”. Or that you have to be in a ‘trance’ to do it.
But channeling can be for any gift!! Literally anything! And you do not have to be in a trance to access your gifts!
The truth is, we are all channels in some way or another. What I mean to say is, we all have the “channel”, or connection, to universal intelligence, the source of all creativity. All creative ideas come from the Source.
All of us came into this life with particular gifts that were meant to be expressed in some way. The channel helps us access our gifts.
It’s a total myth that some people are more gifted or special than others. We are all blessed with amazing inner gifts at birth. We all have things we are naturally good at and overjoyed by. It’s just that some people might have been more encouraged to pursue them, and some of us might not have been encouraged to pursue them.
Many of us might have even known at a young age what our gifts were, but living in this 3D matrix can make you forget, or tuck it away for another day.
So today we’re going to talk about how to connect back to our channels so that we can express our gifts, freely and creatively.
Step 1: Meditation
I recommend meditation, because meditation teaches us to turn our attention inwardly. We’ve all gotten into a habit of looking externally at some point in our lives for advice, validation, comfort, or security. Unfortunately, this way of doing things is highly unfulfilling and misguided.
Meditation teaches us to slow down and pay attention to ourselves in the present moment. And by doing this, we increase our self-awareness.
Step 2: Express Your Feelings
Once we get the hang of tuning into ourselves on a consistent basis, we might notice feelings and sensations in the body that we might have never noticed before. Often these do not become privy to us until the body feels safe enough to let us know.
This might be in the form of past trauma, limiting beliefs, wounded inner children or teenagers, or something else. When we have repressed and unexpressed feelings, it blocks our channel.
And further, when our emotions are running high, for example, with anxiety, anger, frustration, grief, or something else, we can’t hear our intuition, which is the most important step.
Some suggested ways to express your emotions are by doing EFT tapping or journaling. These are the ways that have helped me the most. You may also consider working with a therapist or coach to help you process and express your feelings if that calls out to you.
Step 3: Listen to Your Intuition
Steps 1 and 2 prime you to be able to tune into your intuition. As you consistently practice tuning in towards yourself, you are able to access universal wisdom and guidance. This occurs a lot more easily if you are in a place of calmness and receptivity, versus emotional reactivity.
When I started to meditate, it helped me with my hot temper, impatience, anxiety, insomnia, depression, but the absolute best part: it helped improve my intuition.
I used to look at other people using their intuition with jealousy and awe. I didn’t believe it was something I had. But the very fact that I highly admired this trait in other people was really a reflection of what I had myself.
And now that I have been practicing using my intuition for a number of years, I realize that I am very deeply intuitive and I feel really relaxed about trusting my intuition.
The thing is though, everybody has intuition and it’s a skill that can be rebuilt with time (keep your eyes out for a digital course I am releasing soonish!)
Step 4: Take Intuitive Action
This blog is a prime example. Choosing to blog was based on my intuition, and further, choosing topics is based on my intuition. But really, the topics choose me, week to week. I don’t write or plan any of my topics out, unless I feel that my Highest Self is telling me to.
Sometimes I download the entire blog post in my brain, before I feel ready to write. Other times, I sit down at the computer when I feel ready and inspired, and the ideas just flow out of me. That’s like today’s post.
So I save a lot of time “organizing and planning” and just move in tune with the energy of the universe. It’s a lot of fun!
Another example is baking. I’ll update the group and say that I started an at-home sourdough bakery recently. Once a week I sell something. So far, I’ve sold two loaves and 6 biscuits 🙂 If you’d asked me 2 years ago, or even 2 months ago if I would start an at-home bakery, I would have laughed out loud.
Which is exactly what I did when my friends told me I should sell my sourdough pizzas! It seemed unbelievable to me!
But my intuition was telling me, give it a try, you might have fun. And the truth is, I am having a lot of fun! I like dreaming about what to bake next, and sharing it with other people!
I was having fun with it when I was doing it for free, but being paid for it is actually a nice by-product of the whole thing. It helps me buy more ingredients to share more baked goods! In some ways, it’s serving the community. Baking, to me, is sharing joy.
So again, I don’t know where it’s going to go. I haven’t planned anything further than what I am doing right now. I’ll wait for my intuition to tell me if I need to change things up. But yeah, just thought I’d share that.
Claiming Your Channel Means Integrating All Parts of You
Back when I worked in healthcare, there was “professional me” and “regular me”. Also, “spiritual me”. But now that I follow my intuition with life there is no “separate” me. It’s just me all the way through. And that’s what I love about being a channel.
The more authentic I am to my own being, the more I get to follow my intuition, take care of myself, and serve others in a way that serves me. I get to use my energy in ways that light me up and create space for rest and recuperation as well.
It also means I’ve had to balance the “Pusher” and the “Relaxer” in me. I’ve had a strong Pusher for far too long, so the Relaxer has been taking over these past several months. And this balance feels right at the moment 🙂
Everybody Has Gifts, Including You
The next time you think that someone else is more gifted than you, think again. You are uniquely gifted and worthy of expressing those gifts. You are also worthy of being paid for those gifts, if that’s what you are wishing for.
The key is to take care of yourself first, express and heal your past, trust your intuition, and allow yourself to be the magnificent channel that you are.
Thanks for reading and have a wonderful week!
Love,
Angeli
