Today’s post is my 100th post!!!! Rocco is taking over, coming in hot with his lessons in love. And here he is 🙂
Hi everyone and welcome to my mama’s newsletter about all the greatest things in life ever!!!!!!!
My name is Rocco and I’m the cutest patootiest best friend that mama could ever ask for. Yes I am. Mama loves me so much. Mhmm. Mhmm mhmm mhmm. Mhmm mhmm.
She loves my eyes, my face, my tail, my fur, my feetsies (including my toesies), my belly, my soft ears, and my heart.
And I love mama too!!!! She’s my bestest friend in all of the lands 🙂
We’re gonna talk about unconditional love today – you wanna why? Cuz dogs are really good at this 🙂 👍 👏 🐾
Let’s get started! 🎉
Lesson #1: See Everyone in Their Best Light
Every person that says hi to me, comes to our house, or visits, I love them already. I am always happy to meet new people and make everybody’s day. There’s so much room for more best friends. I wanna be your best friend!!!!!
Dogs see everyone in their best light. We don’t see your mistakes or your negative thoughts as you. We see your heart and soul’s essence as the true you.
Lesson #2: Say I Love You With Your Eyes
Dogs love to do this!!! I love to flash my brilliant, bright eyes at my mama. She adores it!! I do this for any visitor or new person I meet. As soon as they come in the door, I jump up and tell them I love you with my eyes. They really love this! It works 🙂
Lesson #3: Ask For What You Need
Mama really gets in the zone when she works. And I like to break her attention because I need attention too!! So then I come and sit next to her, and then I put my chin in her lap. She is so tickled by this!! She tries hard not to break, but she needs a break 🙂 So I’m helping the both of us.
Other times, when new dogs come to sleep over at our house, I feel a little jealous. So I go over to my mom to ask for extra pets. She always obliges me.
If you let people know what you need, they can meet you where you’re at!
Lesson #4: Cuddling Is #1 Important
Maybe I should have put this number one. Anywho, it’s soooo important. It might be the most important thing! We were put on this planet to bond. I’d like to think I’m 90% responsible for making sure me and my mama bond. It’s so easy!
All you do is sit really really really close to the person you love. And if you think you can’t sit any closer, just try a little more. That’s the sweet spot 🙂
Lesson #5: Co-sleeping Is Good For The Bond
I taught my mama that sleeping together is an absolute must and now she can’t live without it. I also allow our Rover dog-sitting friends to share the bed with us because then we all get to bond together 🙂 yay!
Lesson #6: Make Time to Play
Play is so fun and important! After a rainy walk, I get the zoomies and have to run all around the house and chase mama or the dryer ball (the only ball I like in the house!). When our doggy friends come to visit I try to play with them - or I just play with their toys! They don’t seem to mind 🙂
Lesson #7: Walk Together
Mama and I love our walks, and we love taking our doggy guests along with us. Mama actually bonds better with the dogs who love to walk with us! I’ve heard this is helpful for humans too, since you’re facing the same direction, together!
Lesson #8: Always Go Back to the Heart
It doesn’t really matter what happens in life, what matters is what the heart thinks. When you live from your heart, you can be more compassionate, giving, and forgiving of others. Everybody is doing the best that they can!
Lesson #9: Set Good Boundaries
Sometimes with these younger, energetic dogs who come to stay with us, I don’t wanna play. So I don’t, or I deflect them. That doesn’t mean I don’t love them. But I’m an older dog now, so I don’t mind taking a rest with some extra couch time 🙂
Lesson #10: Love Unconditionally
All of us just really want to be loved and accepted for who we are and where we are at. Many of us didn’t get this as younger people and dogs 🙁 And some of us are lucky to get it now in our new homes!!!
I know I really needed to be given a chance in the beginning. And I’m happy Mama gave me that chance! Unconditional love is our true nature and the greatest gift we can give to others!
Wrap-Up
I hope you enjoyed this post, (typed with my mama’s pawsies) to help everyone remember that love is the number one most important thing!!! Us animals come to find our humans so that we can love you unconditionally, help you heal, and see you live your best life 🙂
Thanks for reading. Feel free to share our post. Happy 100th post to all of you! Sending so much love!!
Love,
Angeli and Rocco 🙂🐶
